Ocado is gearing up for the second phase in the development of its £215m distribution centre in Dordon, Warwickshire.
The site currently processes 120,000 orders a week, with half the capacity given over to Morrisons.com and half to Ocado.com.
Now that Morrisons.com is up and running, Ocado is turning its attention to scaling up the site. It is working to increase capacity to 180,000-190,000 orders a week by the middle of this year.
New sites could also be in the pipeline, the retailer hinted.
“Don’t be surprised if we start talking about adding further capacity this year,” said Ocado CFO Duncan Tatton-Brown.
