18 (19) Cathedral City

Sales: £269.4m +5.0%

On paper it was a good year for Britain’s biggest cheese, but the 5% value growth masks a 3.2% dip in volume sales.

Last March, Cathedral City replaced Chedds Bricks with Towers and Shapes, also under the Chedds sub brand.

But the more interesting news was a brand licensing tie-up in December with Burton’s Biscuits to make Baked Bites under the Cathedral City banner.

Burton’s is targeting sales of £10m in the first year for Baked Bites.
