Tesco has appointed former Sainsbury’s non-food chief Richard Jones as the new boss of its clothing business.

Jones, who helped set up the Tu clothing line during his stint at Sainsbury’s, joined Tesco in 2008.

He takes over from Terry Green, who will reportedly continue to do some project work for Tesco.

Tesco is the UK’s fourth-largest clothing retailer behind Asda, Primark and Marks & Spencer.
