Sir, Yer 'avin' a larf, aren't you? Martin Lewis as the new economic guru, heading the Power 100? Someone with a 'degree' in stating the obvious.
While I accept the rise in price comparison websites is having a significant impact on consumer and retailer behaviour, it is risible to give this man so much credit ('The Grocer Power 100', 21 May).
Have you ever listened to him? A child of 10 with a modicum of common sense would tell you just as much as he does, without all the self-promotion.
Maybe it is an indictment of the great British public that so many seem willing to fall at his feet yet this is the man who so sagely told us "don't spend money on your credit card that you can't afford to pay off". Really, who would have thought it?
When Martin Lewis comes on the radio or TV, my finger goes straight to the off switch. He is the man who put the "dumb" in dumbing down. I am surprised that The Grocer has succumbed in this way.

You also appear not to recognise the influence of the tools at his fingertips, including the explosion in price comparison website and phone app technology, and his network of highly connected helpers.
