Andrew Cowan has been named national director for Diageo GB as part of a management restructure at the drinks giant’s Western Europe operations.
Cowan, currently the Guinness brewer's commercial director for Ireland, takes up his new role on 1 September and will be responsible for leading the GB spirits and beer business.
In a related move, David Smith – who has been Diageo GB sales director for the past five years – will become director for Diageo Ireland.
Diageo GB marketing director Philip Gladman becomes category marketing director for white spirits. Category marketing directors have also been appointed for whiskey, beer and Baileys.
Matthew Bardwell, European marketing and innovation director, becomes Western Europe consumer marketing and innovation director.
