Members of Nisa-Today’s have rubber-stamped the board’s plans to separate its retail and wholesale arms.
The buying group’s members overwhelmingly voted in favour of splitting Nisa and the Today’s Group at this week’s AGM in Scunthorpe – paving the way for a separation early next year.
The group said the move, first announced in April, would let both companies better tailor their individual strategies.
However the two companies will retain a close relationship, as Today’s will continue to trade through Nisa’s central distribution and both parties will pursue joint buying and distribution opportunities where possible.
Also at the AGM, three new members where elected to the group's holdings board, with Mark Proudfoot, Ian Hunt and Vimal Odedra all getting the nod.
