£8m for Kingsmill
n Allied Bakeries is putting £8m, its biggest marketing budget yet, behind the Kingsmill portfolio.

coke adds vanilla
n Coca-Cola is to launch Vanilla Coke in both Diet and Standard formats officially next month. Stocks have already been dribbling in via the grey market.
n A £5m advertising push is planned, including TV commercials.
n The announcement comes as Britvic extends distribution of lemon cola variant Pepsi Twist to the take home and leisure channels. It had previously been on a grocery-only trial.

Wrigley follow on
n Wrigley is adding a Spearmint flavour to its Extra Thin Ice breath freshening strip range, less than three months after launch.
n The newcomer will join its Peppermint predecessor on shelf next month, which, according to the company, is the fastest selling mint and gum line.

thorntons TUBS
n High Street brand Thorntons is to join other big confectionery names in supermarket ice cream freezers with the launch of four 500ml tubs.
n Rolling out to Safeway, Booths and Budgens this week, the range is positioned as a rival to the Ben & Jerry's and Häagen-Dazs brands.
n The range is based on products previously sold exclusively through Thorntons own retail outlets.
