n Interbrew has unveiled a new look for its newly-acquired Castlemaine lager as part of a £9m support package.
n Cans of the Aussie amber nectar will get a jazzy silver background to go with the familiar green and gold livery. The brand's core identity ­ the XXXX name ­ will still be prominent, and it will keep the iconic ...wouldn't give a XXXX for anything else' slogan. TV ads are planned for the spring.
n The brewing giant has taken over responsibility for the brand from Carlsberg-Tetley in the UK.

BREATH BATTLE
n CadburyTreborBassett and Pfizer have joined forces to do battle with Wrigley for leadership in the newly-created breath freshening strip sector.
n Listerine Actives ­ produced by Pfizer and distributed by Cadbury ­ will be launched next month to take on Wrigley's Extra Thin Ice. Both brands will be backed by multi-million pound support campaigns.
n Price could play a part in the competition, as the Listerine product will retail at 99p for a 24-strip pack compared to 75p for the same sized offering from Wrigley.

n Fruit supplier Capespan is debuting in the breakfast cereal market with the launch of a premium muesli range featuring fruit brands, Fyffes, Outspan and Cape Orchard.
n In an unusual move for the category, the range comes in Tetra Pak cartons.
