Expert's verdict:9/10 ?Cobra Bite will appeal to the experimental and occasional beer drinker looking for a refreshing summer drink. Rather than the traditional Belgium method where citrus extract is added during the brewing process, the four flavours - sweet lime, blood orange, apple and lemongrass - are added after fermentation. The 4 x 250ml pack is well positioned to appeal to the consumer organising the last-minute barbecue. Surprising, then, that Cobra has chosen to launch exclusively with Tesco! John Taylor, head of buying, impulse, MBL Consumer's verdict:3/10 ?I like fruit beers on the whole and so was quite excited to try these, particularly as they are quite unusual flavours. My favourite was the lemongrass and I liked the idea of swigging this down alongside a nice Thai curry. However, after the initial promising aromatic whiff of lemongrass it gave way to sugary sweetness. The others were also disappointing; blood orange was very bland with none of the tang or bitterness of the fruit; the apple was synthetic-tasting - like flat Appletiser or bubblegum-flavoured soda - and had a strange saccharine aftertaste, while sweet lime tasted like a flat shandy.
