Australian grocer Coles Myer has reported a 15.5% rise in profit to A$403.8m ($309.6m) for the first half to January 23 compared with A$349.5m a year earlier. Sales were A$18.345bn compared with A$15.684bn.
It plans to open at least 70 ‘big box’ alcohol outlets in the next few years, refurbish more than 100 Liquorland stores and scrap the Quaffers chain.
