Just over £2m now divides Tropicana (23) and Innocent. And with the former’s sales going south, Innocent is poised to take the title of top juice & smoothie brand.

It’s added £22.6m, defied the sugar backlash and revived its smoothies by focusing on added health benefits. NPD Gorgeous Greens was a big hit. It also poured £5m into ads for its Super Smoothies across buses, Tube and TV. Coconut water sales surged after heavy promotion and advertising but juice sales stumbled.
