Electricity prices shot up as the demand for heating increased amid the cold snap from Russia that swept across Europe.
The Indian cotton crop was destroyed by an infestation of pink bollworm, which caused India to import more from the US. This caused US prices to rise, as ending stocks have been forecast to continue to fall, revised down a further 8% month on month in March.

Zinc prices on the LME slipped down as stocks in the LME warehouses increased from 1,799 to 159,347 tonnes on 23 March 2018.
Though the price of gas went down slightly month on month, it has increased year on year. The National Grid issued a ‘Gas Deficit Warning’ because demand across the UK was overwhelmingly high amid a supply crunch, which has caused prices to soar.
