Your morning caffeine hit just got doughier thanks to Dahls Coarse Coffee Bread (SEK29.95/£2.11). The loaf is baked with coffee and flavoured with cranberries and features a number of healthy additions including rolled oats, linseed and pumpkin seeds.
Forget tea and biscuits and bring on tea and bagels. Well, sort of. Pasco has used tea as a flavour for its Apple & Tea Bagel (JPY108/53p), which the brand describes as dense and chewy.
Move over pitta bread, there’s a new dipper in town. President’s Choice is taking the Indian favourite into snacking with its Naan Dippers (CAD$2.99/£1.45). It claims they have a subtle smoky flavour and are best served warm with a favourite dip.
ProteinUP Carb Down – the gym goer’s mantra is also the name of Flatout Flatbread’s latest NPD. The wraps ($2.98/£1.68), which come in three flavours, are made from beans and feature a hefty 12g of protein per wrap.
Silver Hills is going back in time to utilise the power of ancient grains in its Sprouted Organic Ancient Grains Big Red’s Bread (CAD$4.99/£2.36). It’s made with a hearty blend of 21 ancient grains and seeds including Canada’s legendary Red Fife wheat.
Frank Sinatra sang “I want to be part of it, New York, New York”. Clearly Fujipan feels the same having launched an I Love NY Soft Pretzel (JPY108.00/53p) which has a crispy texture and butter aroma with a hint of salt.
Real bread for real men – that’s the impression Dave’s Killer Bread gives off as it claims to rock your world. The Powerseed Organic Bread ($4.49/£2.54) is ‘power-packed’ with fibre, protein and wholegrain nutrition. Grrr.
It may be free from eggs, dairy, cholesterol, sat fat, trans-fat and gluten, but Food For Life’s Rice Almond Bread (MXN172.00/£6.94) promises to pack a rich, nutty flavour.
Genius! Pepperidge Farm has blended chocolate with bread and kept it low fat. Its Swirl Chocolatey Chip Flavoured Bread ($3.99/£2.28) is only 80 calories a slice and contains no trans-fat or cholesterol.
