Design and layout are the watchwords of the founding partners of this Norwegian convenience chain, which boasts “one of the most innovative and striking c-store formats in the world”, according to our judges. The five founding partners, all ex-7-Eleven colleagues, were frustrated at the rigid ‘sameness’ of c-stores and set out to revolutionise the concept with their own upmarket version, influenced by New York delis, and heavily focused on fresh food.
