Eric Herd
UK CEO, Farmfoods
Last ranked: 65
The reclusive Herd released results in May showing a 38% leap in pre-tax profit (to £20.8m) and an 18% boost in sales (to £811.8m). The previous year pre-tax profits plunged more than 42% despite a 21% jump in sales. Farmfoods plans to open 20 stores this year - two thirds in the South. But as Iceland’s plight shows, frozen food retailing isn’t in great shape.
