Retailers caught up in the horsemeat scandal take note. Rigorous testing including over 90,000 inspections per year led to French gourmet flash frozen food chain Picard being voted the best grocery retailer in the world by consumers in the OC&C Proposition Index 2012. “Ranked by customers as setting the standard in food quality in France, Picard has shown it is possible to deliver frozen grocery in a quality environment,” said one judge.
