The fortunes of Britain’s artisanal bakers are rising. And fast. Specialist wholesaler The Bread Factory, which also runs the Gail’s Bakeries retail estate and supplies Gail’s branded products to Waitrose and Ocado, is at the forefront of the movement.
The Bread Factory joins this year’s Gold winners for a number of reasons: it offers its growing number of clients a round-the-clock telephone helpline, up to three deliveries a day and tailored product development, to name but three.
The company’s range of products includes specialist loaves, such as sourdoughs and seeded breads, pastries and cakes, which are all made by hand.
In April The Bread Factory also unveiled its new fleet of eco-friendly electric delivery vans. But above all, it stood out from the crowd for its entrepreneurialism and personal touch it gives its customers, said our judges, and wins the award for a second time.
