Consumer Reports rated Wegmans the best large US grocery chain in 2012. Consistently in Fortune’s annual ‘100 Best Companies to Work For’, it has a cult-like following among foodies across Mid-Atlantic states, with its 81 stores, from 80,000 to 140,000 sq ft, featuring unusually wide aisles. “A strongly food-led experience but delivered at a competitive price point,” said one judge. “Every US supermarket wishes it was Wegmans,” adds another.
