Asda is ploughing £3m into organic farming by launching its own three-year conversion support scheme. The investment comes as part of a package of measures designed to help farmers cope with the industry's crisis. Allan Leighton told some 250 farmers at its second farmers "listening" conference ­ dubbed Growing Together ­ at Asda's Leeds HQ that he wanted to help build a prosperous future for British farming.
