Asda is broadcasting “Asda TV” to its music and video departments as a two-year roll out project comes to an end.
Large plasma screens broadcast a three-hour chart show on a loop in 260 of its 264 stores. The four stores which don’t have the screens are too small, said a spokeswoman.
The broadcast show includes the latest videos and music releases, with an Asda TV logo appearing in the corner of the screen. A spokeswoman said: “We put screens in where space permits as the programme sets the right ambience for the departments.”
She said Asda’s state of the art music and video departments were used by Wal-Mart as a template for stores in Germany.
