Asda has chopped the VAT from its cold and cough remedies as part of an £85m price cutting package for the first three months of the year.
Trading director at Asda, Angela Spindler, said: “Our customers don't see why they have to pay VAT on essential items, and neither do we. So from today they won’t have to.”
