Asda’s 150 petrol stations have agreed to cut back on their unleaded and diesel prices at below 80p per litre.

Although a recent rise in oil prices raised the price for a litre of petrol to above 83p in many areas, the superstore group is cutting back prices to 79.9p a litre.

The BBC reported that Asda is responding to a drop in prices after recent Opec talks, and it noted that the superstore group is urging competitors to follow suit.
