Blackthorn cider is on TV for the first time in six years with a £1m campaign in its south west England and Scottish heartlands.

Breaking now, with a further burst planned for ­November, the humorous ads convey the messages that 'There's no place like Thorn' in the south west and 'There's no place like Blackthorn' in Scotland.

The ads will get backing from outdoor advertising using the same theme.

John Mills, managing director of brand owner Gaymer Cider Company, said the advertising activity reflected the belief that Blackthorn had "very considerable potential to recruit new consumers and to attract people who are rediscovering the brand".
