Sliced is twice as nice: some bread, yesterday

Minor collateral damage in the effort to maintain social distancing is Sainsbury’s decision to stop slicing loaves for its bakery customers on request.

It’s a temporary measure, Sainsbo’s assures us, and it will still slice some loaves overnight.

We still enjoyed the response of one witty customer, however: “It’s the worst thing since… I don’t know what.”
