Stephen Field has been appointed commercial director of British Bakeries. He moves from his post as sales director of Centura Foods. Both companies are Ranks Hovis McDougall subsidiaries. Field replaces Roger White who has moved to AG Barr as md (The Grocer, June 29). He starts his new job at the end of August and will be responsible for sales, trade marketing and customer service. "Bread is unique within the food industry in terms of volumes produced and the production cycle," Field said. "I will look to exceed consumer expectations by delivering high levels of customer service, maximising distribution and increasing on-shelf availability." Field joined RHM in 1981. He worked for 10 years in sales before becoming sales director of RHM's foodservice division in 1991. He was appointed commercial director of McDougall's Foods in 1996. {{PEOPLE MOVES }}
