Tomato Ketchup, which accounts for two thirds of the total, is holding its own, with value and volume sales down ever so slightly. The 550g SKU of ketchup with 50% less sugar, launched in October 2014, is now worth £5.9m and has grown sales from the previous reduced sugar version.
But Salad Cream is falling out of favour, with sales down 6.1% in value and 4.6% in volume. This year, the brand will take the fight to Hellmann’s with its new Seriously Good Mayonnaise.
