Hertfordshire-based business Rico Picante is hoping to tap growing interest in Peruvian cuisine with its range of chilli sauces.

Rico Picante was launched earlier this year by Peruvian brother and sister Christian Castillo and Allison Ward became frustrated by the lack of “unique, spicy flavours redolent of their youth” so decided to make them themselves to family recipes using Peruvian peppers.

The sauces line-up comprises Smoky, Amarillo, Andes, Amazonia and Oops!, which can all be used as marinades, cooking sauces or as table sauces.

The sauces are available at Fortnum & Mason, independent delis and online (rsp: £3.50/160ml).
