Loch Lomond Group is adding 70cl bottles of Glen’s Vodka (£11.99) and High Commissioner (£12.99) to its range of price-marked packs.
The distiller already offers price-marked 20cl and 35cl bottles of the two brands, as well as a 70cl PMP for premium product Glen’s Platinum. The new SKUs launch on 1 January.
Both brands have been in decline across the off-trade. Glen’s, the third-largest spirit brand, is down 3.6% to £170.2m [Nielsen 52 w/e 10 October 2015], but High Commissioner has seen a more drastic drop of 25.4%, or £13.6m - the biggest of any spirit brand in absolute terms. The brand was delisted by Morrisons in January 2015, leaving Asda as the only big four retailer selling it.
However, both brands have a healthier presence in convenience, with Glen’s the number one vodka in the channel, ahead of Smirnoff, and High Commissioner the fastest growing blended whisky by volume [Nielsen].
