Arla has expanded its lineup of products containing added protein with the launch of Arla Protein Milk.
The fat-free milk went on sale in Sainsbury’s this week (rsp: £1.30/one litre), and offers 20g of protein per 450ml serving - almost half of the recommended daily amount.
Natural milk protein was extracted at the same dairy where the milk was produced, said Arla, and then added back into the milk to give it “30% more protein than standard skimmed milk”.
It comes as the Arla Protein range - which launched in 2015 and includes yoghurt, milkshake and cottage cheese SKUs - saw a 72% increase in value sales this year, the dairy co-op said.
“Arla’s new Protein Milk is an easy way to incorporate the nutrient into everyday life to optimise the workout regime. For gym-goers and exercise lovers, it’s the perfect way to make a healthy choice without sacrificing taste,” said Steph Barker, brand manager for Arla Protein.
