Tesco is set to launch Next concessions in its stores, after unveiling a trial to share space with the high street fashion retailer.
Last week the supermarket giant opened a 4,300 sq ft Next concession at its Surrey Quays store in London, with others believed to be in the pipeline if it is a success.
It would not be the first time Tesco has brought in fashion retailers alongside its own F&F lineup, having launched a partnership with Arcadia in 2015, which saw customers able to buy clothes from Dorothy Perkins, Burton, Evans and Wallis.
It also has deals with Dixons Carphone and Holland & Barrett, with Tesco launching more than 50 concessions at various UK stores in 2017.
An alliance with Tesco could also be seen as a way to a new audience for Next, which reported a 7.7% drop in sales in the past quarter, having been hit by rising costs and uncertainty over Brexit.
“We want to offer our customers the best possible choice and convenience when they shop with us,” said a Tesco spokesman. “We have a number of partnerships in stores across the UK, complementing our existing Tesco products and services.
“We’re pleased to be partnering with Next in our Surrey Quays store and look forward to seeing how customers respond.”
