Sales at Hyperama have risen by £5m thanks to the cash & carry wholesaler’s growing foodservice business.
Foodservice now accounts for 40% of Hyperama’s sales, while exports from its food importing division JK Foods, which includes its own brand Tiger Tiger, have also increased.
Turnover grew by 4.2% to £116.5m in the 52 weeks to 29 January, although pre-tax profits fell by 19% to £1.4m. Managing director Marcus Singh said Hyperama had kept its prices low to maintain market share.
Hyperama is trialling delivery to retail customers from its Peterborough site. It started delivering to foodservice customers two years ago.
