Albert Bartlett made a virtue of a slightly strange celebrity tie-up when Marcia Cross popped across the Atlantic to ‘unwittingly’ advertise its Rooster potatoes back in 2009.
The spud company has continued its link with Desperate Housewives, drafting in another cast member to pick up where Cross left off. It’s a bit like those Daz ‘Cleaner Close’ soap ads, but with hunky Jesse Metcalfe instead of Dean Gaffney.
Metcalfe jogs handsomely through London, catching the ogling eyes of a number of lusty potato-preparing women. As they spot him, their spuds either boil, brown or burst with desire. It’s well-judged, clever and surprisingly steamy, at one point visually linking plump potatoes with heaving bosoms. Hot stuff.
