We’re not saying space science has levelled off a bit since the 1960s, but the launch of an oven into orbit seems to signify that the inhabitants of the ISS are running out of ideas.
To facilitate an experiment transparently designed by snack-hungry space-dwellers, the oven has been blasted up on a cargo craft so they can test what high heat and zero gravity does to the shape and consistency of chocolate chip cookies.
Apparently the idea is to see if space can be made more hospitable. We salute you, brave pioneers.
