Malcolm the Cat is back for Young’s biggest-ever ad campaign - a push for its swanky Gastro range.
Rupert Everett hams it up as Malcolm’s voice, poshly eulogising about his owners’ choice of fish dishes, murmuring corny puns and clamouring for a seat at the dinner table. In contrast, the actual cat is strangely stiff, with cold, emotionless blue eyes that make him look more sinister than sweet.
The whistle version of Dance to your Daddy is a nice touch, though - and most importantly the dishes look great, especially the Chunky Cod Fish Finger sarnies.
Actually more impressive are the brand’s UKTV Drama idents - particularly the creepy falling knife and gory ketchup stabs. Malcolm would definitely approve.
