Cadbury is really going for it on the Creme Egg front. Stunned by the fallout from its switch to non-Dairy Milk chocolate last year (it’s still feeling the ire on Facebook), it is shelling out for a Creme Egg pop-up shop.
So far, so 2013. But the Creme Egg Café will be with us for seven weeks! That’s longer than most actual cafés last in London. Cadbury’s gaff will offer up ‘treats’ including the Creme Egg toastie, Creme Egg and soldiers and the Creme Egg tray bake. If you must insist on eating something that comes from nature (get you, Ottolenghi!) you can even buy mini Creme Eggs and strawberries.
Upstairs, there’s a ball pool, which we assume (and fervently hope) will be full of Creme Eggs. Sticky!
The Creme Egg café opened in Greek Street, Soho, tomorrow (January 22). And if it doesn’t arrest a £10m fall in sales, nothing will.
