Soft drinks brand Fentimans has a new brand character for us to meet – and, disappointingly, it’s nothing to do with the daft-looking dog on its label.
Instead, we get a posh wooden puppet. Named Fentiman, he’s a polite little chap, popping up in his debut ad to tell Janet, who’s foolishly about to crack open a generic lemonade, that “you deserve better than that”. He gently but firmly reminds her of the real lemony content of Fentimans rose lemonade, which also includes “the finest otto rose oil from the Karlovo region in Bulgaria”.
“Can you taste Karlovo, Janet?” he adds, with just the faintest hint of menace. With his interesting balance of creepiness and charm, Fentiman is certainly one to keep an eye on.
