KFC is currently trying to excite us Brits with its Zinger Fries. But how can we be moved by some spicy chips when its innovation elsewhere is so spectacular?
The ‘Chizza’, last week unleashed on the citizens of Singapore, is a troubling blend of fried chicken and pizza - troubling because the poultry element isn’t a topping like you might expect, but has instead been flattened out (somewhat) and transformed into a makeshift base.
Even the carefully crafted press shot struggles to make this particular Frankenfood look appealing, so heaven knows what the real thing will look like.
Of course, the real crime here is the appalling choice of toppings. The ham/chicken combo we can just about forgive, but a novelty base does not make the addition of pineapple any more acceptable than it is on a bog-standard thin crust. Sort it out, guys.
