Hit BBC sitcom Fleabag came to a conclusion this week, leaving fans bereft.
For the uninitiated, it’s not exactly Mrs Brown’s Boys. The unconventional comedy had grief, guilt and a troublingly hot priest played by Andrew Scott at its heart – making the show’s unhappy protagonist an unlikely aspirational figure.
Nonetheless, since she shared a “proper drink – cans of G&T, from M&S” with the aforementioned hot priest in the show’s second episode, sales have spiked by 24%, according to Marks & Sparks. So, Fleabag might make terrible life choices, but viewers apparently have complete confidence in her choice of RTD beverage.
Fleabag creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge has form on the gin front – having provided the voiceover for a Gordon’s advert last year. We (and gin producers everywhere, we imagine) applaud her for using her platform to support a cause she believes in. Cheers, PWB!
