Remember those naff, sound-activated ‘dancing can’ toys? They were a precursor to the even-naffer Big Mouth Billy Bass contraptions. Their appeal was limited, and what novelty there was wore off fast.

It seems a strange object for Guinness to choose as the recipient of its brand coolness, hard earned over years of toucans and tick following tock. It pulls it off though, popping its Nitrosurge device on top of a can – giving it the appearance of a rather characterful bird – and letting it dance.

The action is set to a fun, familiar tune – Pérez Prado’s Guaglione. It cleverly teaches viewers how simple Nitrosurge is to use, and what great results it produces, by way of a simple, wittily choreographed animation. ‘Perfect pours at yours’ is an equally successful slogan.
