This Christmas Eve, Aldi stores are closing at 4pm, not to re-open until 27 December. So it’s offering food that would otherwise perish to charities who can use it to spread festive cheer. Nice!
When the news hit Twitter, however, Aldi’s social media team had to spend ages reassuring suspicious types that the offer was genuine. Why? Is it so hard to believe a big company could have a big heart? Er, no. It was more likely the naff ‘poster’ the details were circulating on – nobody believes anything written in Comic Sans, guys.
