The Tate Modern revealed a foodie installation last week: Soul City (Pyramid of Oranges) is, as its name suggests, a pyramid of oranges.
The work was created by Roelof Louw to help chin-stoking art lovers mull the passing of time. But when they tire of that, aesthetes can also bolster their vitamin C levels by helping themselves to an orange as part of the bargain.
It wasn’t much of a bargain for the Tate, though - the whole shebang cost it £30,000. Or £5 per orange. Louw’s greengrocer must be rich!
