It’s back. Top New Talent, launched by The Grocer in 2013, is once again inviting anyone in the industry (aged under 35) to put themselves forward, or nominate someone else, to be included on the list.
Designed to celebrate up and coming talent and highlight the diversity of roles on offer in the fmcg industry, the inaugural TNT was a huge success. If you want to know why, or you’re wondering whether it’s worth entering this year, flick through the current issue of The Grocer and read some of the comments from last year’s successful nominees.
If you’re far too busy being talented to have a look, they enthused about the “amazing” feeling of winning a place and the “perfect” atmosphere on the night. And at the business end, they all enjoyed the opportunity to have a drink with some senior industry figures in a relaxed setting.
They also spoke about keeping in touch after the event and helping each other. For instance, one of the buyers on the list offered a few tips to one of the suppliers, leading to a flurry of new listings. That’s just one example from many, all of which demonstrate how being in a room for a couple of hours with a crop of seriously talented people can deliver genuine career progression.
Entering is easy. Just go to thegrocer.co.uk/TNT.
All we ask for is the name of the person being nominated, details of the person doing the nominating, and the reason why the individual is being nominated - which is limited to 200 words. Further testimonials from a third party can also be sent to strengthen a submission.
Alternatively, anyone can email tnt@thegrocer.co.uk, providing their the name of the person being nominated, and the reason why the nominee should be included.
The deadline for entries is the end of September, but don’t delay. There will be no extension of the deadline and speculative entries for the as-yet-unannounced 2014 event started arriving shortly after the first one, so there are already a few hats in the ring. The sooner you join them, the better.
We look forward to receiving your entry…
