Duchy Originals has launched an Organic Winter Ale as a partner for its Organic Ale.
The latest product under the brand set up by Prince Charles is exclusive to Waitrose and has a £1.89 rsp for a 500ml bottle.
The higher strength winter-time beer (6.2% abv) includes organic cereals, some of which have been grown on the Prince’s Highgrove farm. It includes the same organic Plumage Archer barley malt as Duchy Originals Ale, but with added rye and oats. The hop grist is a blend of the dwarf hop First Gold.
This combination gives the ale a dark ruby colour and warming toffee flavour, with hints of fruit and spice.
