Toms Confectionery has changed its name to Tangerine Confectionery while simultaneously unveiling ambitious expansion plans.

Director Steven Joseph said: "The new name symbolises a fresh start for the business and is part of a strategy designed to put the company on the road to further growth."

Joseph and chairman Chris Marshall, who earlier this year led a management buy-in backed by Close Brothers Growth Capital, said they would strengthen the management team as they planned to double the company's £40m turnover within five years.
