RHM has recruited Ian McMahon as chief operating officer for customer solutions, one of its three operating divisions. It supplies chilled ready meals, cakes, desserts and preserves to top retailers such as Marks and Spencer, and burger buns to McDonald's. McMahon will join on September 1 from ICI Paints where he was regional CEO for the US. He began as CEO for the UK, then became CEO for Europe. Before that he was md of Grand Metropolitan Foods UK for three years. McMahon's appointment completes the RHM senior management team following the recent restructuring of the business into three divisions. The other two sections are run by chief operating officers Peter Baker (consumer brands) and Miles Warnick (bread bakeries). All three heads of department report to chairman and chief executive Paul Wilkinson. Wilkinson said: "Ian's job requires managing a portfolio of businesses, for which he has a good track record. "He will be looking for new ways to develop key customer accounts, such as Waitrose's patisserie and Morrisons' chilled recipe dishes, and to grow them through new product development." {{PEOPLE MOVES }}
