A Spar retailer from Cheswardine, Shropshire has become the first Grocer Club member to scoop two major prizes. Last October, Jane Moore won a LDV Cub van and now is the proud owner of a chiller cabinet courtesy of Calypso Soft Drinks. Calypso  one of the country's leading manufacturers of children's soft drinks and freezepops  put three cabinets up for grabs in our June 24 issue, fully stocked with its range of products including pure fruit juice drinks, Flintstones juice drinks, Tom & Jerry cup drinks and Calypso cups. Jane, together with fellow retailers Vishnu Mistry and Sham Patel, had to complete a tiebreaker to win the cabinet. Their entries were considered by the judges to have been the best from hundreds submitted. Jane said: "The Calypso cabinet couldn't have come at a better time. Just when the unit was delivered, the weather changed for the better, so we have been able to use one of our existing fridges to chill wine and the extra capacity has enabled us to expand our selection of chilled drinks." The entire Moore family are keen competition people. Jane said: "My husband Denis and I enter lots of trade and consumer competitions. Although we have won a van and a fridge in quick succession, we haven't been too successful in the past, although we did win a £1,000 voucher at a Spar trade show. "The children are also into competitions and we all prefer the ones where we have to think up a tiebreaker, more so than those where you simply tick boxes." Sham Patel runs a 1,400 sq ft Londis store at Pewsey, Wiltshire and was astonished by his good fortune. He said: "I have won a few little things in the past, but this is my first meaningful win. It's a wonderful piece of equipment." The other Calypso cabinet winner, Vishnu Mistry, runs a 1,800 sq ft general store and off licence at Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire. {{GROCER CLUB }}
