Tell us a little bit about Morrisons' Livingston store? The store was opened on 17 October last year so it's just over one year old. At 83,000 sq ft it's one of Morrisons' largest in Scotland and has the most up-to-date footprint. I am particularly proud of our non food section, which has been enthusiastically received by our customers. DVDs and CDs are selling particularly well at the moment and I am expecting these sales to increase the nearer that we get to Christmas as they make fantastic presents.

We have just added a further 22 bays to our home and leisure section, which was quite an undertaking as we had to relocate some of the store's regular food bays in order to accommodate the new products. We are now selling a wide range of TVs, DVD players and various other top-end electrical products, which is really exciting.

How long have you worked in the retail industry? I have always worked in retail and have been a store manager for the last 29 years. In that time I have worked for a variety of companies such as Somerfield and British Home Stores.I joined Morrisons as a store manager eight years ago and was lucky enough to open this store last year.

Who do you see as your biggest competitor? Asda has a large Wal-Mart 'Supercenter' just around the corner from our store so I would say that is probably our biggest competitor. However, we work to provide a point of difference by priding ourselves on availability and customer service and being the very best at what we do day in day out.

My mission as store manager is to make sure that a customer who walks through our doors at 8pm will receive exactly the same levels of enthusiastic customer service, and be able to buy the same range of great quality products, that they would at 8am. What's more, I have a fantastic team of hard-working and dedicated staff, many of whom have been here for a number of years, working alongside me to achieve this.
