Our Top Store award went to Waitrose manager Paul Lambert (left) for his Portishead store this time last year.
Our shopper was impressed by the friendly, professional staff and clear layout in the store, and predicted the building and development work under way nearby would increase footfall and sales.
In Paul Lambert's absence, department manager Chris White confirmed that our shopper's forecast was right.
"Business has gone from strength to strength since the construction work finished," he said.
"We enjoyed record-best Christmas profits and the penthouse apartments and other developments have considerably increased our customer base."
