Asda has appointed Clive West as loss prevention director, taking over from Steve Robinson who is leaving to pursue other opportunities.
Prior to his move, West was director of stores of the community and claims to have raised Asda’s profile in the local community by 22%.
West said: “I am very proud of what my team and colleagues in all our stores have achieved over the past few years regarding community involvement and local sourcing.
“I’m now looking forward to what is a very different role, building on the great work of Steve Robinson.”
West joined Asda in 1997 from Sainsbury as general store manager of the Scunthorpe store and a year later managed the resiting of the West Bridgford store.
He was promoted to regional marketing manager for the Central Division in 2000, before taking up the post of cluster coach for Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire in 2001 and then moving on to Asda House as head of local marketing.
