Candy Kittens has made its entire product range vegan by refomulating its Eton Mess sweets.
The posh flavour was originally made with beeswax, which has now been removed from the recipe, making the brand’s entire portfolio suitable for vegans.
Going fully vegan had always been an ambition for the brand, as sustainability was a “top priority”, it said.
The brand added it now wanted to improve the sustainability of its packaging and reduce the mileage of product travel since achieving its carbon neutral status last year.
Candy Kittens co-founder and MD Ed Williams said he was “delighted that we’ve reached this 100% vegan milestone”.

The reformulated product offered consumers “the very best sweet without any compromise on quality”, he added.
It comes after a buoyant year for the brand, whose value sales were up 35% to £8.1m in the 52 weeks to 11 September 2021 [NielsenIQ].
Last autumn, the brand debuted a trio of ‘Gourmies’ – gummies designed to appeal to “grown-up palates”.
In December, founders Williams and Jamie Laing led a funding round for plastic-free chewing gum brand Nuud, helping the brand pull in a £750k cash injection.
